I’m quite new to the whole make up collecting thing, and I have a little more than the normal person of my age but I still count myself as quite the novice. Also I have about 4 brushes and those vile spongy-eye-applicator-thingies! At the moment I am focusing on building my lip and brush collection. So I though I could be the best person to do a make up starter kit and a little mini review on each product. Enough of me babbling lets dig right in…

Starter Foundation, Concealer and Powder
L-R Rimmel Match Perfection foundation (100), Collection Lasting Perfection (2) and Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (005). This foundation is beautiful, it has a dewy finish that is matted perfectly with the Stay Matte Powder but i would say the coverage is light to medium because it is buildable. If your looking for a matte and/or full coverage foundation i suggest the Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse. Sometimes I use the Dream matte mouse as a concealer because I am lucky and don’t need a full coverage. My actual concealer I have chosen is the Collection Lasting Perfection, do i need to say anything? I bet you have all heard about it! i use this under my eyes and on my nose.

Starter Blusher and Bronzer
L-R Bourjois Delice de Poudre (52) and Bourjois BLUSH Exclusife. This Bronzer smells and looks like chocolate, plus is contours beautifully. I use the Real Techniques Blush Brush to contour because the pointed tips helps for accuracy. This adds a real glow to your face because of the small shimmer in the bronzing powder. The blush is a lovely cream that you can build for a bespoke pink or blend for a subtle glow. I personally don’t suit bright pink cheeks so blending is the way for me, some times I use my fingers to blend and sometime I will use the blush brush.

Starter Eyeshadow Pallet
MUA Heaven and Earth. What I don’t like about this pallet is that they don’t tell you the names and they are ALL shimmers. I am going to do a full review of this pallet at some point also saying how i would wear it etc… This pallet is really cheap, only £4, but you get what you pay for.

Starter Brow Pencil, Pencil Eyeliner and Liquid Eyeliner
L-R Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil (004) , Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal (001) and Loreal Super Liner Perfect Slim. The colour of my eyebrow pencil is defiantly too dark but if i use it gently it comes out at just the right colour. I love this product because of the waxy finish, its like it is gelling and colour in one! I do recomend buying a shade lighter than your hair colour. Any black kohl eyeliner is perfect for a starter kit and this one I feel has an easy application but isn’t n all day all night product. mine is looking a little grubby and short, think its time for a new one! Perfect Slim Super liner; You little beauty! this thing is amazing! and i keep forgetting to re-purchase as the tip has dried up so now its not so slim - It’s only fault - All day wear and easy application! i love it!

Starter Mascara
Rimmel Glam’eyes Day 2 Night Mascara (Black/Brown). I find this the perfect carry around and starter mascara because of the multi-brush. My lashes tend to flop down but this just keeps them perky. The length is perfect for day time and the volume adds something extra for night time. The problems i find is that it states “no clumps” but if i don’t scrape the wand before use i get very clumpy lashes.

Starter Lipstick
L-R Miss Sporty Dr Balm Glam Kiss SOS (02). Alright I know that this isn’t lipstick but one trip to super drug I realized I only had £2 left and I REALLY wanted the Maybelline Baby Lips I was only £2 away so I thought I’d thought I would have a walk down to Miss Sporty. to my luck I found a baby-lip-a-like for £1.99! I didn’t say no to this sheer royal jelly lip balm although it is a bit too sheer and I’m not a fan of the packaging. this is brilliant if you want something really subtle on a budget.

Starter Brushes
L-R Real Techniques Blush Brush, eyelash curlers and a bog standard powder brush. I would suggest getting the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Real Techniques Powder Brush and the Real Techniques Starter Kit. although I don’t have these I am using two brushes! It is very hard to create a look, i’ll tell you that!
I hope this helped, give me a like if it did! Now Tell me you’re ideal starter kit in the comments bellow!
Keep on blogging!
